This is at the Gulf Road with a Southeast wind.  Breaks to the left, on the northern part of the parking lot. Best spot is up further by the creek.

This one is also at the Gulf Road, with a Southwest wind. Breaks to the right on the southern part of the parking lot.

A Great Week of Waves

Nice shore breaks all day long!

Rewarded with a beautiful sunset.

Next day even bigger, mostly 2 to 3 feet. South West wind 25 mph.

Nice clean waves breaking out from shore. North of the parking lot, South east wind at 30 mph.

The Storms are here!

Getting ready to head out on the first of five days in littler over a week I would surf here. What a great couple of weeks and it's still going!

Just great surfing in general. I have a new SUP surfboard and training hard for next summer comps. Hopefully the wind will continue for a long time. More photos and some gopro videos on my next post. Check in for more Jhcoastal information. This is my new coastal business!!!

Watching the Winds

I might be surfing most of Sunday and Monday early morning with the winds there predicting. This should break further out, turning into good left shore breaks! Super excited. 

Nice left shorebreaks!

Surprise winds today, gave me 2 footers on the shoreline. Got to ride my new SUP board and had a couple great shorebreaks. Clean little waves and lots of fun! Next week promises big winds, super excited!!!

Past waves...

Since we will be waiting for waves with this beautiful weather, here are some past photos of surfing areas around here. Will be posting them this whole week.

Whitehorn reserve, big storm in 2012, 4 to 6 footers. Real sets made it in all the way inland. There was 30 footers in Cannon Beach on this same day. 

Calm waters

The forecast is showing calm seas and warm weather for the next week. No wind, so get out the paddle boards and get on the water.  Storms will come, but I'm enjoying the water until then.

Beautiful day! Sept. 7

Pretty day today! Sunny, warm and little wind. However, wind is coming from the Northwest and that is new. Must be approaching fall and winter. Flat as usual and probably flat for the next week. Great SUP paddling though, go out and enjoy!

The calm before the wind storms

Beautiful sunset as a small northwest wind makes it's way into the bay. Soon this wind will make 3 foot waves and I will be there!

First time surfing in August!

Winds picked up later then predicted and hit through the night. Big winds hit the house at 10:30pm and was driving me crazy. Said screw it! I'm night surfing. I was welcomed to two foot waves that I paddle surfed for a while. A great night and now in love with night surfing. Nothing my Dodge Ram high beams couldn't fix. Plenty bright enough to surf, will be doing it again.

Ok. ok. I know I haven't posted for awhile, but there really hasn't been anything to get excited about yet. Happily to say, we are less than a month away from the potential chance of the first wind waves! So excited!!! who knows what the winds will bring this year.

Surfing at the Gulf Road through March

The winds finally came in March and gave us alot to be happy for. The gulf Road didn't disappoint. Just brought the fish with me left everything else behind and caught wave after wave after wave.

 

 

 

 All by myself, surfing around some of the best scenary. Getting long rides in at the Gulf Road.          First 4 footers I have caught here, was on this day.

                   Mushy 3 foot waves can't stop me and my fish. What a beautiful day it was!

This wave might look small, but it is clean, breaks along the shoreline and I can ride it with my 6' 8" fish. This also makes you realize how much bigger the other waves are in the other photos.
